Maimonides Underrepresented Minorities Emergency Medicine Rotation (MurmER) Scholarship Program (for MS4 Visiting Students)
Maimonides Medical Center is excited to offer our MurmER Scholarship Program to MS4 visiting students who choose to do an away rotation at our program. Our Emergency Medicine Clerkship provides a fulfilling clinical experience with a highly diverse patient population that challenges and strengthens students from all backgrounds and training. We recognize the value and importance of a diverse workforce in the care of our patients. We hope to recruit and train individuals who are traditionally underrepresented in medicine, whether ethnically, socially, economically, or other diversifying backgrounds in medicine. In support of this goal, the Emergency Department is proud to provide a $2,500 scholarship for exceptional students who identify with one of these groups. In addition, all students will be provided with an Attending and Resident Mentor during their rotation. The scholarship may be used for travel, housing, and other expenses related to the month-long elective. Students will be responsible for their own travel and housing arrangements.
